Music Zone
Qnext lets you create unlimited shared Zones with content that can be accessed by Qnext users or anyone anywhere. Qnext stores the share content in Zones for easy access to the shared content and a simple way to know which content is shared with whom.
When you create a Music Streaming Zone you can instantly stream your entire music collection to anyone you want.
To create a Music zone, go to File > Share Content or double click on Create and Edit Shared Content from the Qnext Desktop. Select Share Your Favorite Music. Locate in your computer the music files you want to share. Drag and drop the desired folder or individual songs into the Contents window. Repeat this process for any additional music folders you want to add.
You can Import Windows Media Player and iTunes libraries into your music Zone by pressing their corresponding option on the left bar. Note that when you select any of the playlist, the text description will change from inactive to active.
After playlist selection, you will not see the playlist in the Contents area, but they will be shared. When you complete the Zone creation process you will able to view this Zone by selecting (double click) Browse Friend’s Content.
Windows Media Player and/or iTunes tracks and playlists on your computer will then be shown to your friends who can then listen to music selected from these playlists. If you have playlists formatted as m3u (used by WinAmp too) in the selected folders they will be imported into the Playlist section of this zone by default.
Audience - Drag and drop the contacts and groups that you want to share with into the Audience area. To share with individuals, drag and drop their name into the Audience area. To share with Groups, you need to drag and drop the group while holding the shift key or right-click on the group and drag into the Audience area.
Check mark Broadcast to web browsers when you want to share the Zone with none Qnext users (other messengers and emails) and/ or for anyone through a web browser.
Select Edit the advanced zone options located in the left bar for Zone description and searching options.
To Send Invitation to any of the shared Zones, right click on the contact name or group in the Audience area. When the Zone is shared with users from other IM protocols or email contacts, those users will receive a link to the shared Zone. By clicking on the link they will have access to the shared content from any standard web browser.
You can also copy the Zone webcast link to be pasted in other programs by selecting Create and Edit Shared Content, right click on the Zone and select Properties. The webcast link will start with http://userID.qnext.com/... and is shown in the Zone Properties window. Click on the icon to the left which will copy the link/URL to the clipboard, then you can paste it into any communication software you may use. A link to the Zone within Qnext is also available in the same dialog, starting with qn://userUID/ZoneName but can only be accessed by Qnext users from within Qnext.
When it is all done, select Save and close the zone. After you save the created Zone will be selected in the next screen that will show. Qnext automatically creates a Zone name and it can be changed by right clicking on the Zone name and selecting Rename.
Qnext will save a Zone, if you switch to a different task during the Zone creation. If you don’t want to save the zone or any changes select Cancel changes and close the zone.
