Music Zone
When you create a Music Streaming zone you can instantly stream your entire music collection with anyone you want. To create a Music zone, start by clicking the Create link in the My Shared Zones bar at the top of the Contact Panel. You may have to click the + icon under your display picture in order to see this bar. On the following screen, click the Create button, select Music from the list and click Next.
In the Source column, locate the folder with music you want to share. Drag and drop the desired folder into the Zone column or single-click the desired folder and press the Arrow icon. Repeat this process for any additional music folders you want to add. You can import Windows Media Player and iTunes libraries into your music zone by pressing their corresponding icons on the top right. The Windows Media Player and/or iTunes tracks and playlists on your computer will then be shown to your friends who can then listen to music selected from these playlists. If you have playlists formatted as m3u (used by WinAmp too) in the selected folders they will be imported into the Playlist section of this zone by default.
Press the Advanced button to configure additional Music Zone options. Here, you can choose how often Qnext will scan your selected Music folders and update your zone library, and can select the quality of the audio stream in your Music zone. Note: We do not recommend selecting Original quality unless you will be sharing this zone within a home or office network. Click Next when you are done.
Next enter a Name and a Description for your Music zone in the space provided. Please note that entering a zone description is optional, but it will make your zone easier to find in a Search. Click Next when you are done.
On the next screen, select the Audience for your zone. Just scroll through the bottom panel in the Audience column on the right and check the boxes beside the contacts that you want to share this zone with. Checking the box beside Everyone will share this zone with every Qnext contact, and checking the box beside All Contacts will share it with every Qnext Friend on your list. You can also check the boxes beside Groups to share this zone with everyone in that group.
If you want to share this zone with someone who is not in your list of contacts, press the New Contact button and add new Qnext Friends, then import email addresses or log on to your IM service. Note: You can only send a zone to IM Buddies if you are currently logged onto that network.
Don’t forget to enter your zone after you share it to create your own custom playlists. These playlists will also be accessible by your Audience when they access your music. To do this, click the + sign beside your own name and double-click on the Music zone you want to add a playlist to. In the Playlist section on the left, right-click to create New Playlist and give it a name. Now browse through your Library on the left and move music or songs to your new playlist by highlighting them then dragging and dropping onto the new playlist.
