Setting up an Account
In order to use Qnext MyPC, you must first set up a Qnext MyPC account (this is different from your regular Qnext account). Here’s how you do it:
Settings
Click the Tools Menu inside Qnext, and select Qnext Plug-Ins > Qnext MyPC. You are now looking at the Settings menu for Qnext MyPC.

Enable Qnext MyPC on this computer now – check this box to activate Qnext MyPC; you cannot access you computer remotely without checking this box.
Automatically start Qnext MyPC when Qnext is loaded – check this box to activate Qnext MyPC at all times when Qnext is running. Once you have an account, you will always be able to access your computer as long as it is on and Qnext is running.
Accept connections without asking – check this box to let yourself (or anyone else with the appropriate username/password combination you have specified) connect to your computer instantly. If this box is unchecked, you will receive a notification when someone tries to access your PC, and you will be able to deny access if you wish. However, the notification will time out after 30 seconds and access will be granted.
Once you have configured your Settings, click the Users tab.
Users
This is where you create a Qnext MyPC account. You may create more than one account to give different people access to different things. For example, you may want to give yourself access to your entire computer, but you might also want to let your friend have access to a specific program on your computer:
Click the Add
icon to create a new account. The next screen will let you configure the account details:

Create a new username and password for this Qnext MyPC account. On this screen you must also set what this account will have access to, and whether or not they will be able to control the shared content, or only view it.
Full desktop access – select this if you want to grant access to your entire desktop. If you select this option, nothing on your computer will be hidden.
Application specific access – select this if you only want to make specific applications available remotely. Please note, that you can only select applications that are currently running to be made available remotely.
Allow the user to control these applications – check this box if you want to be able to actually control the shared content. If this is not checked, the remote user will only be able to view what is going on, they will not be able to actually control the mouse or do anything other than look.
If you selected Full desktop access then you are done! Click Finish and your entire desktop will be available remotely. If you selected Application specific access, then click Next to choose exactly what will be available remotely:

The Applications column will show you all of the applications that are currently running. Click the Access drop-down menu to the left of the application you want to make available remotely and select the type of access.
None – this means that this application will not be available remotely. Anyone accessing your computer from this Qnext MyPC account will not be able to see this application whatsoever.
This Document – this means that this specific instance of this application will be available remotely. In the above example, clicking This Document would make the PowerPoint file “Presentation1” available remotely, but if there were other PowerPoint files running, they would not be available.
All Documents – this means that every instance of this application will be available remotely. In the above example, clicking All Documents would mean that if ten PowerPoint files were open, they would all be available remotely.
Once you have configured your application access, click Finish. That’s it! The content you have selected will now be available to this Qnext MyPC account from anywhere in the world.
Connections
The final tab in this section allows you to monitor connections. If you only give yourself remote access to your PC, then you will not need to use this tab. However, if you have provided access to other people, this tab will let you see who is accessing your computer, and also let you disconnect them or change their access permissions:

This screen shows you who is connected to you. In the above example, Qnext MyPC user monika is connected to your desktop and only has permission to View.
Disconnect – this will disconnect the selected user.
Disconnect All – this will disconnect all connected users, if there is more than one.
Edit – this will let you change the access type and permission of the selected user.
Note: you can quickly change the access type between View Only and Control access by using the drop-down menu in the View Only / Control column.
