Playing Games

Currently, games are only available between Qnext contacts. Available games include Checkers, Chess, Backgammon, Poker, and Go.

Sending a Game Request

To invite a Qnext Friend to play a game with you, you can right-click on his or her name in the Contact List and select Play a game, then choose the game you wish to play. Your friend will receive a game invitation and when he or she accepts the game will load.

Receiving a Game Request

When a Qnext Friend invites you to play a game, you will hear an alert, see a pop up event the screen, see a flashing Q icon in your system tray, and a Game icon will flash beside the contact’s name . Double-click on the flashing icon or single click on the pop-up alert and you will see this Game Negotiation window:

Just choose whether or not you want to Accept or Decline the offer. If you accept, the game will load and you can begin playing.

Game Controls

To start playing a game, you must click the Play button at the top of the game. At that point any game options that can be customized will be presented and can be changed. Customize your game and click OK.

Each game has a set of controls at the top. These controls vary depending on the game. Just roll your mouse over these control buttons to learn what they do.

Play a Game Against the Computer

All Qnext games include an option to practice your skills against the computer. You can play the Qnext games against the computer if you click the Show the Explorer (Desktop) on the top of the Contact Panel, double-click Games and select the desired game.

As example the Qnext Backgammon lets you play 4 backgammon variants when click the Play button and select Game Type - Backgammon, Nackgammon, Hyper-Backgammon & Acey-deucy.
