The first step in forwarding ports is setting a Static IP address. To get step by step instructions on exactly how to do this, just click your Operating System from the list below:
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Mac OS X
Once you have set a Static IP, you just need to log into your router and forward ports. To access your router, open up your web browser and enter your Default Gateway (found in the static IP process) into the URL bar. Some common gateways are:
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.1
192.168.0.1
You will now be prompted with a log-in box. If no one has changed the log-in details, they will still be default. Common default details are:
Username: admin
Password: admin
Username:
Password: admin
Username: admin
Password:
The default settings can be found in the support materials that came with your router, or online. Once you are logged into your router, find the section on Port Forwarding. Some common places to look are:
Advanced
Applications and Gaming
Virtual Server
Once you have found the Port Forwarding page, recall the ports that were indicated to be forwarded in the Qnext Connection Wizard. Forward these ports (specifying UDP or TCP as shown in the Wizard) to the Static IP that you have already set.
That's it! Save your changes and restart Qnext. If your connection status has not changed, it is probable that you are having a Firewall issue, click here to resolve it easily.
Remember, if you have a Yellow Light, Qnext will still work properly without any problems. This guide is only here to help you get the most out of Qnext.
