Connection Status

There are four types of connections to the Qnext network: Green, Dark Green, Yellow, and Red. Depending on your connection status, you may be able to significantly improve your Qnext experience with a few easy steps. Following these steps can help to stream your music faster, speed up file downloads, and get all your photos to your friends even quicker!

First, what type of connection do you have? Your connection indicator is a little light at the top of your Contact Panel:

Green Light : "All Incoming Connections - Direct" Green means you're good to go! Your connection is perfect, and we couldn't be more proud of you.

Dark Green Light : "Qnext Connections – Direct, HTTP Connections - Proxied" A Dark Green Light means your connection is almost perfect. All of your connections with other Qnext users will be direct, however, when friends access your content from the web, this connection will be proxied. Click here to learn how to make all of your connections direct to enjoy the optimum Qnext experience.

Yellow Light : "All Incoming Connections - Proxied" A Yellow Light means you are connecting through a proxy. Basically, as good as your Qnext experience is - it can get even better! Don't worry; click here to learn how to improve your connection in just a few easy steps.

Red Light : "All Incoming Connections - Blocked" A Red Light means you have a blocked connection. This will only occur if you are behind a restrictive firewall (sometimes the case in a corporate setting). You will not be able to talk or share with any other Qnext who also has a Red Light. Have no fear, there is a solution. Click here to learn how to improve your connection.
