Instant Messaging

You can send Instant Messages to anyone on your buddy list.

Sending

To send an Instant Message, simply double-click on the name of the desired contact or right click on it and select Contact Center. That’s it! When the message window opens, simply type your message and hit Enter or click Send.

INCOMING EVENTS and ALERTS
Incoming events are received for a message, a Files transfer, Video or Audio Conference, MyPC > Remote Help from... request, and Games. When you receive incoming events, you will hear an audio cue and see an alert popping up on your screen for 30 sec. Along with that the respective event icon will flash beside the contact’s name and the Qnext icon will flash in the system tray until the event is accepted or denied. Simply click on the pop-up alert or the flashing icon to open the event. Pop-up notifications are displayed when contacts come online and MyPC clients are connecting/ disconnecting from your PC.

Receiving

When a Qnext or IM contact sends you an Instant Message, a sound will play and there will be a pop up event on your screen for 30 sec, and a flashing Qnext icon in the system tray. Double-click the Qnext Friend’s name or one click the flashing icon to open and/or reply to the message. In Windows versions of Qnext, the message will automatically open and be minimized to the task bar. You can choose the option the contact which sends you a message to jump to the top of your contact group. This could be made from File > Contact Options > Move contacts to the top of the list after an event is received.
